ππ«π€ Happy 2017! What does this year hold in store for you? Will you embrace it and grow…or run and hide from it?
Let’s get this 2017 party started.
#OBB β All Eyes on You
ππ«π€John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
We are created in the image of God, the Word. The light of all mankind. Through free will, God allows us to choose our words. Will they be for light or darkness?

ππ«π€ We celebrate Christmas this weekend, which means gatherings with family, friends, coworkers and some folks you may not have even met yet. These can be very joyous gatherings, but then again there can be anticipation, tension and feuding with those you are “forced” to be around. In these situations, it’s very easy to make fun of and put others down to make ourselves feel better. So what kind of attitude will you have? You can choose to be a reflection of The Son or the darkness of Satan. Christ came to show us how to live in communion with Him, to die for our sins on the cross, and to rise from the dead so that we can have an eternal salvation with Him. Think about that as you share time with others this Christmas.

ππ«π€ I really enjoy the Christmas season, but about seven years ago I got fed up with how commercialize Christmas had become and I decided to quite decorating the house so I could focus more on what CHRISTmas is really about. I have one decoration that I leave out year-round to remind me to celebrate our Lord’s birth and sacrifice EVERYDAY. I heard this song yesterday for the first time. It made me grin from ear to ear and I knew I needed to share it with you. I pray that you can be solidly focused on Christ the rest of this Christmas season. Bless others and be blessed.

ππ«π€ I don’t usually ask for prayers, but Brian and I would appreciate your prayers during this time of discernment and potential job transitions for both of us. Thank you in advance and know that I am praying for you as well.

ππ«π€ It’s that time of year again…decoration, gift buying, family visits, too much eating. It can all be overwhelming and time consuming. So how are you going to squeeze in preparing your heart, during this season of Advent, for Christ’s birth? Have a plan. Work it. Be ready for Christ this CHRISTmas.

ππ«π€ Last night in our Financial Peace University class, I was reminded once again that God is the greatest giver of all. Seriously, He gave His only Son to die for our sins. He gave us a path to our salvation. So why does God ask us to give? God made us in His image. He knit us in our mother’s womb. When we give, we are following in our Father’s footsteps and are becoming more Christlike. We can give to others in many ways, shapes and forms, but don’t forget to give thanks to those in your life and to the Father, Son and Spirit. When you give thanks, you are offering praise, honor and worship to our Lord. Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year. Tell me what you are truly thankful for.

ππ«π€ I’ve heard “Dear Younger Me” many times, but yesterday morning I heard it in a different way for the first time. I took the focus off of “me” and heard who is the “younger me”? My kiddos, their spouses, my grandchildren. I can’t go back and share my life experiences with my younger self. Life only moves forward and we can only hope and pray that some of what we share with our “younger me” is taken to heart so that they don’t have to go through the same pains and hurts that we experienced and are still experiencing every time we hit the replay button on our life. There is a BIG difference between “Good” choices (putting ourselves first – what feels good to me) and “Wise” choices (putting God first and the glory of His kingdom). So, dear younger me, I pray you hear my heart and always choose to make wise choices. Bless others and be blessed.

ππ«π€ God woke me up today with this song. Bless others and be blessed.

ππ«π€ I was at Mass Monday night for the Feast of All Saints and read “We are invited to remember and give thanks for others in our lives, perhaps known only to us, who served God and helped to bring us closer to God.β Then, during the homily it was said, “We are all saints on our journey back to sainthood.” Over the weekend I was thinking about today’s message and I love how God affirmed His message in what I read and heard at Mass. Whom can you name and want to thank for helping to bring you up from the ashes and closer to God? Who has helped you to discover and desire a relationship with our Lord? Now look at those in your life…who is God calling you to share this precious gift with? Will you accept God’s call to bring dead bones to life? Bless others and be blessed.
